Zoe Saldana is known for her roles in action/adventure flicks so it’s not surprising to see her working out in Hollywood. Here she is arriving at an “Exclusive Private Training” session. I wonder if she’s going to be kicking some ass again in the new Star Trek: Into the Darkness film that releases this May?
Zoe Saldana stars in a new movie that came out Friday called The Words. Zoe almost turned down the role for the movie, but is glad she didn’t. She talked about her role and the chemistry she had with co-star Bradley Cooper while making the film. In an interview with THR, she said:
“I’ve always said that when you watch movies and a love story falls short of what you wanted it to be, as an actor, as a person who works in films, you know that ninety percent of the time it didn’t work is because there was no chemistry, they didn’t work out a friendship, they didn’t feel safe around each other, they weren’t communicating properly.”
“Bradley is a very dedicated and open professional. It’s really good when you can balance that with an actor as opposed to an actor that just comes prepared and just goes, ‘don’t fuck up my light’ and ‘this line is my close-up.’ We didn’t care where was the camera was,” she said. “It was just like we were both part of this extensive conversation.” – read more
Zoe Saldana looks relaxed and comfortable in these photos for California Style, but there was a short time after filming the movie Avatar when she almost had a nervous breakdown. Zoe talked about her near breakdown in a recent interview with Latina magazine:
On dealing with her newfound fame: “The year after Avatar was just emotionally overwhelming. I was traveling all over the world, waking up in different time zones. Your body gets exhausted, and by the end of the year I just collapsed.”
On coming close to a total breakdown: “I was in Paris training for Colombiana, sitting in my hotel room, and I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t stay awake. I must have slept for an entire month. It took me the rest of the year, even as I was working and shooting Colombiana, to pick myself up. Thank God my family was there.”
On the post-Avatar effect: “I just want the best filmmakers in the world to tell me, ‘You’re good, kid, you’re legit.’ The recognition will never get old, and I’ll never get accustomed to it. I don’t ever want to, because that will mean I’m taking it for granted. That’s why I work, not for the luxuries or the awards.” – read more

Zoe Saldana had a fantastic year in 2009 starring in some of the biggest movie blockbusters. 2010 wasn’t as good, but she’s got more in store for her fans. According to IMDb, Zoe has upcoming roles in the Star Trek and Avatar sequels. However, we all know how sequels go and they’re usually hit or miss. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if her career continues to take off or if she was just a flavor of the month type deal? Good luck Zoe.
It looks like Zoe Saldana is moving up the ladder just a little bit. First she replaces Eva Mendes as the face of Calvin Klein and now she gets the cover of GQ (British). Zoe recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Keith Britton of 10 years, but now that Zoe seems to be raking in more dough she might want to think about a prenuptial to protect her precious ass-ets.
Any Trekkies out there? If so, then you probably recognize Zoe Saldana quite well. Others may not be so familiar with her work. She is also known for the voice of Neytiri in Avatar. She seems to get a lot of sci-fi/action roles in the movies. Maybe because of the slim, athletic and sexy body of hers as you can tell by those smooth legs in People. If any of you are interested the Star Trek sequel comes out in 2012, but I’m sure if you’re a Star Trek fan you already know that.
